About Manado, Minahasa, North Sulawesi/ Celebes Island
Indonesia consists of thousands of islands, which have many tourist attractions, one of the large islands is Sulawesi/Celebes Island. Where one of the interesting locations to visit on this island is in the northern part, namely in North Sulawesi.
Geographically, this location is located on the southwest edge of the Pacific Ocean. The largest city is Manado and the mountainous Minahasa highlands. This area is crossed by the Pacific Ring of Fire. A naturalist and biologist named Alfred Russel Wallace who made an observation trip in this area in the 18th century, in his diary "Manado/Minahasa is a mountainous area to the west and south with many mountain peaks, providing beautiful scenery in the background.".
Brief information about this area, where in the 15th century, Portuguese and Spanish fleets came to the northern peninsula of this island. A sailor named Simao d' Abreu who found a settlement and named it Manado (derived from Portuguese and Spanish, manado/manadas which means a group of islands off the coast).
